Why: celebrating the adventurer’s spirit
Jaclyn grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (no, she’s not Amish), and will probably always consider the rolling hills and farmland of that area “home.” Eighteen years on the east coast were enough for her, though, and after high school she headed for another coast. This time it was Lake Superior’s southern coast and the town of Marquette, Michigan. There she received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Photography from Northern Michigan University and fell in love with the outdoors. Marquette’s average snowfall of 250+ inches per winter is plenty to keep Jaclyn occupied with snowboarding and telemark skiing. On her days off she climbs at the indoor climbing gym on campus. During the summer she spends her time exploring, kayaking, and volunteering on an organic farm. All of these experiences have led her to discover just how much she loves being outside and photographing things found outside. Jaclyn refuses to be cooped up in an office behind a computer, she’d rather be outside, roaming around and snapping shots at the same time.
